Radio equipment

Radio equipment is often used to link to meters where direct cable connection is undesirable or impractical. Various types of radio solution are available to meet the requirements of individual application – e.g. battery-powered pulse transmitters, point-to-point or multi-point Modbus links, or GSM/GPRS equipment for connection via the mobile phone network.

Data Concentrator

The radio data concentrator is a wall mounted data collection point for the radio transmitters.

Each packet of information from all transmitters on a site is collected, time-stamped, stored and transferred onto a data server at a user defined time interval. The concentrator can use GPRS, Ethernet or WiFi communication platforms to transfer the data reports.

Transmitter

The small pulse logger/radio transmitter is used to to collect, log and transmit the pulse count from any pulsed output meter. This could be from electricity, water, gas and oil meters etc.

The pulse count total is sent to a data concentrator every 15 minutes using an exclusive licensed frequency channel for this equipment. Each radio transmitter has its own unique identification number, is sealed to the IP68 standard, has 10 years battery life and has a line of sight range of 2km.

Radio Repeater

The radio repeaters are used to increase the range between the data concentrator and transmitters. When the repeater receives a packet of data from a transmitter it re-broadcasts the packet at higher power allowing a range of up to10km.

Workshops

We run a range of workshops for small groups wishing to expand their understanding of energy monitoring and targeting. Find one to suit you.
